that’s where the universe rewards you. I’m a very big believer in a higher power connecting everything together. You have to be ready for the opportunity. First of all, you create the opportunity and second, you have to be ready when it’s there. Michael : That’s right. So, other than keeping your sword sharp, your body physically fit, your mind quik, educated in whatever particular fields, many times just some broad strokes, also your education. Other than that, what would the next two biggest tips for success be from Eric Levine? Eric : Ok, great question. Three things, one is, without a doubt, it is the people you associate with. I will tell you a really, really funny story. I think I told you personally what it was. So my father and my mother kept on ragging on my friends, “you have lousy friends and blah blah blah blah”, I think you know the story. I was a member of the most ruthless MMA club in the depths of Chinatown in Montreal. Everyone but me was a serial killer, including my instructor. They were enforcers for the mafia. They were enforcers for the Paradise Riders, Satan’s Choice. Lots! I decided that I would invite them to have a fat Jewish family Friday night roast beef dinner at the Levine house. I invited the top six serial killers for dinner. Next to my mother was Spencer. He was a terrorist who would import bazookas and grenades for the FLQ, the group that wanted to separate Quebec and Canada. Also, a serial killer. Next to my dad was a guy named Crow, there is a book written on him about how he
If you’re lucky enough to find a mentor, you gotta find one and they have to be the best. Next, whatever it is you're going to do, you gotta love it! I don’t care what it is! It doesn’t matter if you want to be the best shoe maker, you have to be the best. Whatever, you’re going to rise to the top and have a successful, happy life and you’re gonna grow it naturally. If you’re on point and passionate, the universe will reward you.
Michael : Well, I guess it’s all perspective isn’t it? (Laugher)
Eric : So, who you hang around with is one.
Two, you have to find a mentor. Now, for me, I only believe in mentors that have accomplished what you’re doing, what you want. I don’t believe in a book PhD to tell me how to grow my biceps. I want to go to Schwarzenegger and do what he does. I don’t believe in philosophy or literature. I believe, if I wanna be the most successful in that particular thing, I wanna hang out with the most successful person in that thing and work my way into being mentored. Being mentored means you have to be ready to sacrifice and do the work. So, who you hang around with.
Lastly, be kind, just be kind.
Michael : Very good. So to this point what is your greatest fear?
Eric : I have a 10 year old boy. I was James Bond in my mind, 100%, before Joy (Vanichkul, Eric's wife) and she was pregnant. I was James Bond,007. I don’t know what happened, but I went from James Bond to D-A-D-D-Y in the flash! Now, the world is changing, and you know our favorite saying is “Generational Wealth.” My greatest fear is that, here is my real honesty, I am 66, he’s 10. "I INVITED THE TOP SIX SERIAL KILLERS FOR DINNER. NEXT TO MY MOTHER WAS SPENCER. HE WAS A TERRORIST WHO WOULD IMPORT BAZOOKAS AND GRENADES..."
