“SHOW UP and BE ASSERTIVE Unapologetically”, owned and operated by Janae Sergio. She and her husband started the business with a small initial investment of $4000 and tapped into the clothing sales experience Janae had gained before joining the Navy. Janae didn’t have a business background, so she learned a lot about business ownership as she went. She encourages would-be entrepreneurs not to wait if they are looking to branch out on their own. She’ll tell you that there is never the perfect time to start a
business and you are bound to make mistakes as you go.
Janae’s advice for the next generation, to the next little girl who has all the potential in the world, “you don’t need to come from a place of privilege to make it.” She encourages people to pursue their dreams and even if they don’t ultimately make it, they can discover their purpose along the journey. Everybody’s life has a purpose, even if you don’t know what it is yet. Above everything when you get to know Janae, her positive attitude is what keeps her world from falling off its axis and can do the same for you.
The lessons you’ll learn are invaluable and will make you better is the thought process here. One more piece of advice Janae will give is that you don’t get overly concerned about those you know who choose not to support you in the new business venture. She learned that trying to earn that business support was a fool’s errand as that decision is their personal choice and should not dissuade you from seeing the successful path you are on as an entrepreneur.
