that already supports the cause you are raising money for; these are considered level 1 potential sponsors. Then reach out to businesses that you know are local and care about the community; these are level 2 potentials. After that, send the package out to other companies that might seem ‘far-fetched.’ When building your sponsors list, having the attitude ‘it never hurts to ask’ is one that will continually surprise you. The goal should always be to have the hard costs of the fundraiser completely covered by the sponsors before tickets even go on sale. This way you know that every dollar made from that point on becomes what you are able to donate. Going through the fundraising journey is full of thrills, growth, and just as much impact on yourself as it is on the donor recipient. Building a strong team is vital to the mental health of those involved, as well as the sustainability of the fundraiser moving forward. How do you do this? Find people who are equally as passionate about the cause, who see the importance of giving back to something greater than themselves, and who not only have skills they want to donate, but also skills they want to learn. Making sure that the roles on the team are clearly defined and each lead has support so that people are not burning out due to taking control of too many tasks is vital. Also, making sure that those who are involved on all levels of production are affirmed, encouraged and appreciated will build confidence in you as a leader and in the project itself. The more you can involve the community itself in the fundraiser,
